By On August 1,2023, Delhi University released its first merit list for admission to their university. Over 85,000 candidates have been shortlisted in the first round of allocation. The candidates who registered for DU UG Admission can download the merit list from the official website of DU, which is admission.uod.ac.in
From 2022, DU starts conducting a separate exam for admission to their university and other government universities called CUET. And after the exam, students have to register to be eligible for counseling and get admission to DU and other government universities. So on Tuesday, DU finally released it’s first merit list for admission. The merit list was supposed to be released at 5:00 pm but it was released prior to the scheduled time.
As per reports 202,416 eligible candidates were considered for the first round of allocation on the basis of their preference chosen for programs and college chosen.

In the 2023 allocation list, almost 7042 candidates out of 85,853 got their first preference for college and course. And over 52% of seats were given to women, which means out of 85,853 students 45,287 seats were alloted to women. And
A total of 40,565 seats for men and one for transgender. The most preferred course this year in DU is B.com.
What to do if your name is on the list
So first you have to check whether your name is on the list or not. To do that you have to follow a few steps:-
1) Go to the official website of Du admission.uod.ac.in
2) on the homepage, go to the candidate dashboard
3) Enter your credentials and login
4) The first allocation list will appear on the screen
5)Check and download your merit list.

Students whose name is on the list will have to accept their seat by August 4,2023. Colleges will then check the application against the college allocated. The process will be done by August 5,2023 till 4:59 pm.
Candidates who will accept the seat offered to them in first round and apply for upgrade will only be considered for upgrade in the second round and students who have their name on the merit list are also supposed to accept the seat at the earliest.
